Hi Twink,

I'm looking for William & Martha Johnson, but any Johnson will do.

Thanks

The only JOHNSON i have for the godalming area so far is situated in Nightingale cemetery:

ELIZA JOHNSON, wife of GEORGE.  Died 25 May 1892 age 31 years.  Also on headstone MARGARET BOWERS, sister, died 7 Nov 1898 age 61 years.

Hi Twink,
What a grand job you are doing :)

I was fortunate enough to be in the UK recently, tramping around Surrey churchyards (as you do ;)) and was saddened to find many headstones badly weathered, ok we can't help that, but many taken from their original place and stacked against walls, covered in brambles, making it impossible to read vital inscriptions.  On the brighter side, thanks to people like you, I found many survey's of MI's at the Surrey History Centre, preserving this all important aspect of family history research.  A very big thank you to you and all those others who have taken the time & trouble to document these inscriptions!
