I know the following about Thomas and his family
Emmanuel baptised 5 Oct 1824 in Little Bealings, Suffolk
His siblings were all baptised in Grundisburgh, Suffolk as follows
Adamina Maria, 28 Jul 1826
Elizabeth, 11 Apr 1836
James, 23 Jul 1837
Louisa, 23 Jul 1837
William, 23 Jul 1837
Amelia, 16 Sep 1838
Deborah, 27 Mar 1842

Thomas had two children in his first marriage to Elizabeth Bloss
John baptised 23 Aug 1818 in Clopton, Suffolk
Esther baptised 2 Mar 1820 in Clopton, Suffolk she is buried same place 5 Mar 1820

Thomas was baptised 26 Jan 1790 in Burgh, Suffolk the son of
James & Esther Copping who married 9 Dec 1789 in Clopton, Suffolk
Their other children were baptised in Clopton, Suffolk
James, 26 Feb 1792
Jeremiah, 31 Aug 1793
Esther, 7 Apr 1795
Amy, 7 May 1797
Emanuel, 6 Oct 1799
John, 20 Jun 1802

Esther was buried 26 Dec 1804 in Tuddenham, Suffolk

I believed James may have married twice after this but have not found hard facts to prove or disprove.
His second marriage 23 Jun 1806 in Nacton, Suffolk to Eve Blowers, I have not found a burial for her
The third marriage 5 Apr 1813 in Tuddenham, Suffolk, to Ann Brame, I have not found either in burial records.
I have not found any children of either marriage.

James was baptised 8 Apr 1770 in Hasketon, Suffolk the son of
Thomas & Elizabeth Holden who married in Grunisburgh, Suffolk 28 Dec 1767
She was a widow of Burgh, but I have no info on her maiden name.
They had one other child Thomas baptised 13 Nov 1768 in Burgh, Suffolk
Elizabeth was buried 19 Dec 1772 in Hasketon, Suffolk
Thomas remarries 14 Sep 1777 in Burgh, Suffolk to Hannah Howes. I have not found children to them. I record a burial in Nacton, Suffolk 13 Jan 1814 for Thomas aged 75, therefore being born about 1739 but cannot identify Thomas baptism or where he came from.

I had all of these Trickers in my database with the exception of most of the children of Thomas Tricker and Adamina Maria Garnham (whom I have now added: my thanks to Tryykersfield) .  There are a couple of things I can add to the collected works:

1.  The Esther Tricker who was buried at Tuddenham St Martin on 26th December 1804 was, I believe, Esther Copping, wife of James Tricker.

Supporting evidence:

A. The date of burial is consistent with James being remarried to Eve Blowers on 23rd June 1806.

B. James Tricker's children, with the exception of Jeremiah, started entering the Nacton House of Industry in April 1803.  For that reason, a cousin of my wife's (they are both Trickers) who transcribed relevant bits of the Nacton HOI records, believed Esther must have died by that date.  However, it may well be the case that her health had failed and she was unable to care for the children during the remaining part of her life.

C. When Eve Blowers married James Tricker at Nacton on 23 Jun 1806 the banns described him as a widower of Tuddenham, her as a single woman of Nacton.  This tells us that James and Esther were probably resident at Tuddenham when she died.

As a matter of intereset, Eve Blowers was discharged from the Nacton HOI on the day she married James Tricker.  Perhaps that's why the wedding took place at Nacton.

2.  I have also had difficulty establishing when and where Thomas Tricker was born.   His age was recorded as 75 on admission to the Nacton HOI on 12 October 1813, which places his birth  between October 1737 and October 1738.  The only decent candidate I can find was baptised at Wetherden on 28 August 1737.  Ages recorded at Nacton HOI have been shown to be somewhat unreliable in other cases and the error is small enough to be acceptable.

If I have the right candidate, his parents were Thomas Tricker and Sarah Pearle and you can trace them back another three generations in the LDS Pedigree Resource File.

I can provide more detail if wanted.

Sorry about that, yes in the case of Esther I had meant the mother (Copping) guess its a habit that you don't think about when writing.
I tend to include death/burial alongside the birth/baptism record of the person when detailing family and move off to a clear line to refer back to parents sorry for the confusion. I actually didn't consider the daughter because of the James marriage in 1806 as a widower.

Looking at my data I don't have any knowledge of the daughter I do have a couple of options but have not connected anything yet.

ddutoit1942 are you aware of Eve Blowers age when she left the HOI. Getting married was probably why she left HOI as well as being married in Nacton. I don't suppose your cousins noticed any Tricker's leaving the HOI after this date, although I expect James may have been living in Tuddenham before the marriage being the place Esther was buried and where he might have married for the third time in 1813 if that is the case.

I wholeheartly agree with your comment in regard ages but it no doubt was a problem at all levels particularly when they lived so long and moved about, no one probably new his exact age including himself. I have a relation who aged 8 years every census and as you know they were conducted every 10 years.

I think we also need to consider that not all babies were baptised immediately following birth although in general include comments like "a child", "infant" or the age. Based on that I actually have additional Thomas Tricker's that could be a candidate and I could be missing some records also. I offer the following as candidates also

Prior to the stated Thomas baptised in 1737 the previous baptism of a Thomas I record as being in 1728 so have no candidates before your suggestion. Going forward I believe there are 4 candidates -
Thomas bap 10 Jun 1739 Stowmarket, parent Philip and Jane (Harvey)
another 21 Jul 1741 in Stowmarket, base born, mother Grace
another in Combs 10 Jul 1743 base born mother Mary and
who I consider to be the last option one in Eye 22 May 1743 parents Jepthah and Anne (Howes)
The next baptism of a Thomas occurs in 1756 in stowmarket and do not consider him to be an option

I have at present only consider that  of marriage and death of the 1739 Thomas but this is by no means set in concrete

Going forward a marriages certainly might fit into one of them, Thomas in Hitcham 11 Oct 1762 to Judith Powle, Thomas is said to be from Orford, banns were read there and in Hitcham, they baptise children in Stowmarket. The other is Thomas and Elizabeth Holden in 1767, a third in Redlingfield in 1785 might be the Thomas bap in Eye nothing else

A Thomas is buried in Orford 27 Feb 1813 aged 74 and currently link him to the one who married Judith Powle. We then have Thomas buried in Nacton and another buried 28 May 1819 in Cockfield aged 74 (1745). Interesting how all are the same age at death from around the same period, must have been something in the water at the time. That is about all I know of the possibles.

Also ddutoit1942 is it possible to know which ancestry line your cousin and wife come from.

Thank you for all the above.  It seems my request for info on Thomas Tricker is not only helping me but someone else too.

If anyone has any certificates for any part of the Tricker family which is in my line I would be most grateful.  I can obviously pay for copies and postage.

Thank you Tryykersfield.
