Thanks Alan, you have actually shown me the way to go regarding getting a clearer view of "who lived where" and will put it into practice for 1871 & 1881 census. Thanks. Sue

 my pleasure this forum and the people on it have been very helpful to me in the 4 days that I have been using it.

 The above Census Transcript was photograhed from a book at the Whitehaven Records office in Sept 2003.

 I am sure if you show these photos, they will know if they have the same transcriptions for later Census's
