Hello Yvonne. There are no Armstrong gravestones of any age beyond Stanhope.
the answer to your other question is Yes. Keep all the request separate so that others can find the information that is posted.
What are the christian names and dates of the Armstrongs that you are looking for?
Don't forget that not all gravestones have survived the ravages of time or (my pet subject) the vandalism of the councils in the name of health and safety,
of the pushing over, and more than likely face down, lots of very fine gravestones.
That is the reason that I started recording the inscriptions.

Adam

Hi Adam
I have just been reading the Gravestone campaign threads and other postings from Weardale. I am new to rootschat so it will take me a while to catch up. I will try not to ask questions that have been asked before but as I am sure you will understand, when you have come up against a brick wall with the family tree its hard not to be inpatient!!. I am looking for Thomas William Armstrong b 1870 died 1910 in Crook, his father Thomas Armstrong  b 1840 Daddry Shield, died after 1901 but unknown date. His wife was Mary Ann nee Heatherington so they might be together. James H. Armstrong (son of Thomas and Mary Ann) born 1886 St johns chapel - last known address Cowshill pub approx 1923.  Ralph and Elizabeth Philipson of East Blackdene Ralph b1839 Elizabeth b1841 but I don't know when they died. I would also like to find their daughter Jane b1870 and their granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Philipson but as both of these ladies will have married I may never find them. So far I can find no evidence of Jane after 1896 when she gave birth to my grandfather and her daughter Elizabeth grace was born 1895 ( my grandfathers sister)  I think Grace married William Robinson of High Jollybody Farm but cant find a death cert for her as Mrs Robinson. I believe she died between 1979-1982. Its a muddle and I deeply regret not asking for this information before living relatives who would have known these ancestors have themselves died.
Any help would be appreciated
regards
Yvonne

Hello Yvonne. There are Armstrongs at Crook but the are in the late 1800's
There are philipson's at Willington. In fact a Ralph and Elizabeth but not the correct dates.
You will have to be careful that you do not get the Ralph mixed up because there were two Ralph Philipson at East Blackdean aged 22 years (1861 census) one was a joiner the other was a mason.

Hello again Adam
yes the two Ralph's were related (cousins of sorts) and the younger Ralph's brother Thomas lived in the cottage between them. I have been to East Blackdene and have seen the terrace of three houses they lived in and have been sent an old photo of the terrace by the weardale museum. When I blew this image up on my PC there was the outline of a young girl outside of my ansestors house that was the image of my great aunt Grace (spooky) The stone mason Ralph was my g,g, grandfather.
Thanks
Yvonne.

Hello Robert. Sorry about the delay. Been away for the weekend.
There is only one for Eggleston at  Wolsingham, and that is for a late date.
Dates of 1970 and 1992.
I won't post it in case it offends any relation who may be alive.
If you want the inscription I will send it via the personal post.
There are two others inscriptions from Edmundbyers with dates in the mid 1700's.
You will have to request them on the Edmunbyers heading.
This keep them separate and helps others who are researching the same name

Hello Anne. There are two gravestones for McMahon and three for McGough.
They are way past the date of the 1950's that I use for the cut off dates for posting on the board.
You can have them if you want, but it will have to be via the personal message board.
It will appear on the board like this but no one else can view them.

As for the McMahon and Mc Gough baptisms, there are loads of them but I can not mix gravestones inscriptions with baptisms.

If you look at "look up requests" you will see I have posted a message about Wolsingham(note Wolsingham) and Tow Law.
With the names that you posted  I assumed that they were catholic, and If so, they will be grouped together because Wolsingham and Tow Law  shared the same priest.
At the moment Tow Law is linked with Willington and Wolsingham is linked with Crook.

So I think if you read the instructions and send in a request (It will be the first)
I will see what I can do

Hello. I seem to be getting more requests for look ups from people requesting M Inscriptions and also Baptisms on the same request.
I do not mix them both and that makes it easier for me, and I would thing fellow researchers.
In my last posting I said anyone requesting baptisms would have to go to the requests board. In fact I should have said Look up offers  board.
