Hello Lynn. Here are inscriptions for Rutter :-

<Snip>

> Sacred to the memory of William Rutter, of ????? Hill who departed this life September/7/185? aged 59 years.

I have a lot of RUTTERs at Toft Hill at about this period.  Could your ????? Hill be Toft Hill?

> Also Phoebe Rutter, daughter of the above William and Mary Rutter, who died  April/14/1850? aged 16 years.

One of my Toft Hill RUTTERs, Thomas, married Phoebe CROSBY 17 May 1834, at Auckland St Helens.

Given the family's naming patterns I suspect this Inscription might have something to do with my lot.

Any comment?

Trevor

Also Jonathan, son of the above died May/4/1865 aged 27 years.
Also George Pattison, son of the above died March/23/1873 aged 55 years.
Also Mary, relict of the above William Rutter, died June/9/1888 aged 86 years.

In loving memory of Jane, the beloved wife of James Rutter, who died September/4/1907 aged 65 years.

In loving memory of William Ormston, husband of Margaret Linn Cowan, died 28/June/1931 aged 57 years.
Margaret Linn Cowan, died 13/December/1948 aged 77 years.
Interred at Saffron Walden.
(I put this one in because the William Ormston may be of interest.

The above are all from Wolsingham St `Mary and Stephen.

Here is the  one from St Ellen, Auckland.
In memory of William Ormston, of St Ellen, Auckland, who died November/2/1894 aged 50 years.

I can't thank you enough, Adam, this is wonderful. There are so many Anguses and it is difficult to sort them out without first--class information such as this.
                       Thanks very much once more

Hello Adam,

If your offer is still open, I would be interested in the KIRTLEY name, as my 2x great grandfather came from there.

Thanks

Tom

Hello Tom. Here is the inscription:-

In memory of John, the beloved husband of Isabel Kirtley of Thistlewood House, Wolsingham, who died January/11/1912 aged 55 years.

There is another gravestone but the burial dates are after 1950's my cut off date for posting on the board.
The dates are for a person aged in the 80's dying in the 1980's
If you require it I will send it by personal mail board.
