1881 census Whitby

Robert Wray and Susan Robinson are my Great x 3 Grandparents. I have been to Sneaton where there is the grave of some of the Wrays - inscription as follows:
"In affectionate memory of Elizabeth wife of William Wray Chain Bridge who died February 11th 1875 aged 71 years. Her end was peace. Also the above William Wray who died on the 6th day of June 1884 aged 88 years. Also William son of the above who died on his passage home from Singapore June 1849 aged 26 years. Also Robert Dalton son of the above who was drowned with all hands on board the Chieftan of Whitby on the coast of Holland October 25th 1865 aged 33 years. Also five children who died in infancy"

William Wray and Elizabeth Dalton (mentioned in the inscription) are Robert's parents.
I also have other info on this branch of the Wrays, their descendants (including some Winspears) if you are interested.

None of them are mine! But thanks anyway... My family might link to them further back.
My Wrays originate in Ripon and my Winspears come in later on - marrying into the Wray family.

I, too, am descended from William Wray and Elizabeth Dalton thru their son George Dalton and Mary Ann Dillon.  You mentioned that you have additional information on the Wray's from Ripon.  I would be very interested in any additional information on this famiiy.
