I think this is my great grandfather maybe in the boar war??  It's a picture from a locket.  Please tidy and color.

Here's a starter for you , I'm sure you'll get better ones .

Scrimnet is the person that may well help you on uniforms .

Hi Tricia  :D

It looks like a WW1 photo to me.

If you post a copy of it on the Armed Forces WW1 site you will probably get a positive identification of the uniform from the experts on there, and more info about tracing his service records.
