Hi Adam
I am searching for the Rudd family in St Cuthbert's, I visited a couple of years ago but looking for another grave at the time, George Wood.  George was my great grandfather although I believe there's no headstone, and the Rudd's were the owners of our home, and I am trying to find the history of the building I was born in, in Low Etherley. If you can be of any help I would be extremely grateful.
In anticipation

Hello Splinter. You do not give any appx dates for your Rudd family.
When you last searched the graveyard at Etherley did you find any Rudd gravestones?
Did George Wood have a middlename of Winterton?
As for tracing the history of the house in Etherley? I think that would be difficult.
You may get a photograph of the house if it has any historical interest by going to :---

Hi Adam
May thanks for your reply - I do apologise for not being more informative.  George did not have a middle name as far as I am aware and I think he may be buried in the 'paupers end' down in the corner behind one of the big trees.
As for the Rudds possibly mid-1800s into mid-1900s - I intend delving into directories with this info.  I think there were a few headstones Oct 2009.
Many thanks for the link too, that could be very interesting.
Keep up your wonderful work, it means an awful lot to us that cannot reach such places on a regular basis.
Wish the same was available for Netherwitton in Northumberland - can't find anyone to help me there at all with Gilfellon.  Never mind
As I say a big thank you
Regards
splinter
