Has anybody heard of the surname Longbourne ?

My Grandfather's name is Alfred Longbourne McNemay & Longbourne is supposed to be a family name, so far I cannot find a connection between Longbourne & McNemay.Found some Longbournes in the English Census in Sussex.

Also having trouble finding the surname McNemay.

Any help very much appreciated.....Gidget

Alfred Longburne McNemay - Darling Downs, Qld
Edgley (East London); Cope (East London); Clark; Hodson (Lancs); Major (East London); Horsman(East London); Winter; Pollak (Austria); Munk (Austria)

Hi Gidget
Welcome to rootschat.   Try various spellings of McNemy - Macnamee, McNamee etc.  There are various people researching the latter in the Genealogical Research Dictionary.
The Longbourne bit is highly likely to be mother's maiden name - or another name from the past.  More details on your grandfather might help us sort that.    Was he born in Australia?
