Hi Ladybird.thanks for taking the time to search for those Martinborough burials for the surname Grant. As you will have seen in the posting by Kimberley, Frances (Fay) Grant was buried at Karori cemetery.I am sure the information you have posted will come in handy as I continue my research. My main interest is the parents of Frances,Frederick McAllum and his wife Florence McAllum (maiden name Coveney).Frederick, (brother of my great grandfather,Duncan McAllum) was I understand on the Martinborough Town Council in the early 1900s.Frances was their only child.Fred and Flo are apparently buried in Martinborough.Another brother  of Fredericks, was Charles Fenwick McAllum who lived in Featherston. If you happen across any of those names when youre not busy,I would appreciate the details. Many thanks again.Gereon. :)

Hi again Gereon,

Have found these burials at Karori as well....perhaps obtaining some death certs would confirm what you need to know.

Florence (Flossie) McCallum  1928

cannot find Frederick,   but..... :P

an A F McCallum buried at Karori 1950  ???too old?

Agnes McCallum  1954
Ann McCallum       1932

There are many more....if you would like all of them,  let me know and I will send a PM.

Cheers

Kimberly

Hi Gereon
These are the only McAllums buried in the South Wairarapa District cemeteries, your Florence and Frederick  :)

PlotID Cemetery Section Block Plot Last First Middle Date of Death Age
8965  Martinborough (Huangarua Rd)  3  Presbyterian  54  MCALLUM  Florence     12/19/1941
8883  Martinborough (Huangarua Rd)  3  Presbyterian  53  MCALLUM  Frederick     8/22/1934

I thought I might have a look next week to see if I can find out anything about Frederick being a Town Councillor.
The trouble is since amalgamation the archives are in storage all over the county, but I'll see what we've got here.

More later.... hopefully

Hi Gereon

....Frederick McAllum and his wife Florence McAllum (maiden name Coveney).

Do you know Florence COVENEY's parents?
One of my ARROWSMITH's married a COVENEY in 1877....
