1870 Census Illinois, Brown County, Elkhorn Twp, Mt. Sterling
              Post office---29 July 1870

Liming, Samuel, 30, male, white, farmer, real estate value-
                   $6000, personal estate value-$500, b. Ohio,
                   male US citizen over 21
Eliza Jane, 33, female, white, keeps house, b. NC
George, 12, male, white, at home, b. Ill, attends school
Zena, 6, female, white, at home, b. Ill
Laura, 4, female, white, at home, b. Ill

At www.usgenweb.com, looking at Illinois, then Brown Co., I found a cemetery listing for a George A Liming and an Effie Liming.

Apparently, if you find a name in the above listing, you can email a person to send you the information.

Sorry, I don't have access to Ancestry.com.  All I can do is try to affirm him or rule him out by census data.

Below are 2 entries in 1860 living side by side.  In Samuel's household is a 67 yr. old woman who could be his mother.  Someone needs to look for Samuel in the 1850 census to possibly find his parents.

1860 Census, Illinois, Pike Co., Perry Twp   3 Sep 1860

48/48
Frances Liming, 41, female, $50 personal estate, b. Ill
America             10, female , b. Ill
Florence              8, female, b. Ill
J.W.                     4, female, b. Ill
Alphonso             3, male, b. Ill
Mary                    2, female, b. Ill
John P                 4/12, male, b. Ill

49/49
Samuel Limming, 29, farmer, $2800 real estate value, $700
                   personal estate value, b. Ohio
Mary Jane            29, female, b. Ill
Cristiana                7, female, b. Ill
G.A                         3, male, b. Ill
J.W.                      3/12, male, b. Ill
S. Liming               67, female, b. Ohio
N. Cunningham     20, female, b. Ill

On the www.usgenweb.com site, Illinois, Pike County, Perry Twp, they have the 1860 Mortality Census transcribed.  It includes the following 2 people.

James Liming, 63, male, b. Ohio, (died) January, farmer,
                  (cause) unknown, (duration) 60 days

J.(P?) Liming, 37, male, b. Ohio, (died) March, farmer, (cause)
                   consumption, (duration) 180 days

James may be Samuel's father and J.(P?) may be Frances' husband--possibly a sibling to Samuel.

You keep asking to find marriages and parentage of Samuel.  Maybe you are not aware that we do not have a central repository of BMD here in the States.  The early births and marriages might show up in probate records of a particular county, but not all counties included this information.  The certification of BMD didn't become mandatory till after the early 1900s. Again, different states have different years in which it became mandatory.  Therefore, it is necessary to look at the census records to find a specific family group and then look at the state and county they are in at that time to look for specific information.  In the case of Samuel Limming, you have him listed in the 1880 (KS)and 1900 (CA) census' as having parents both born in Ohio.  I have him back to 1860 in Pike Co., Ill with a possible mother by the given name of "S-----" b. in Ohio and a possible father by the name of "James", also born in Ohio.  What is needed is to find Samuel in the 1850 census and see if he is with a James and S  Limming.  The 1850 is the first census in which all names in the household are given.  If he isn't with his parents then, it becomes almost impossible to track him into Ohio.  The 1840 census only gives the name of the head of the household and "ticks" for males and females in stated age groups.  I hope this explains why no one is giving you the information you are requesting.

I just looked at www.rootsweb.com for a Samuel Liming, b. 1830 +/- 2 yrs in Ohio and found the following link which seems to follow the census information I have found.  If you look at the charts in depth, you will see that this person has traced him back to a John Lyming, b. ~1650 in England.  All other generations appear to have been born in the US.
