Is there a Salop Street and a Salop Place in Penarth because my relatives used to  live at 16 Salop Street Penarth according to the 1881 census!

Thanks Christine - so do I understand correctly - there is a Salop Street AND a Salop Place?

I wondered if my ancestors lived in the same place as the original poster?

Hi Cate,

Salop Street is quite a long road and Salop Place runs off it.  I live nearby.

Thanks Gadget  :)

I can see the 2 streets clearly now.

Also found Grove Terrace where my Aunt used to live.

My grandmother used to live at Maughan Street when she was a girl but I gather it no longer exists.

Thanks to you also Christine. I visited Penarth in 2000 but I wasn't as interested in family history then as I am now :-\

Hope to get back there next year and do some exploring.

Really appreciate your help. :)
