Hello Tab11. Here are the Smith inscriptions :-

Sacred to the memory of Ralph Compton Esq, who died at Brooms Cottage, on the 8/April/1864 aged 57 years.
Also Harriet Jemima, his wife who died at Brooms Cottage, 6/May/1893 ( no age given)
Also Caroline Jane Smith, sister of the above H.J.Compton,
who died at Browns Cottage, July/23/1897 (no age given )

Here lies the body of John Taylor, of Brooms, who died 22/May/1763 aged 75(3?) years.
Also Mary, his wife who died November/1/1768 aged 70 years.
Also the body of John Smith of Brooms who died8/September/1800? aged 87 years?
Also of Mary, wife of the above John Smith, died 8/September/1811 aged 84 years?
Also Margaret, daughter of the above named John and Mary Smith, died 10/August/1833 aged 68 years.
Also John, son of the above John and Mary Smith, who died 21/May/1830 aged 80 years.

In loving memory of Isabell Wilson, who died October/27/1901 aged 77 years.
Also Elizabeth Smith, daughter of the above who died November/11/1900 aged 57 years (Interred at Brandon)
Also Catherine Usher, daughter of the above who died February/16/1884 aged 29 years.
Also Thomas Wilson, son of the above who died June/10/1918 aged 56 years.

Affectionate remembrance of Isabella Smith, the beloved wife of Robert Smith, of Fine House, who departed this life October/12/1865 aged 66 years.
Ann Nevins, their daughter who died December/16/1861 aged 22 years.
Also Mary Hutchinson, their daughter died August/24/1877 aged 48 years.
Also the above Robert Smith who died December/22/1878 aged 80 years.
Sarah Wilson, their daughter died 24/December/1880 aged 59 years.

Looks like a potted history of the Smith family.

Hello Hinton Here are the Oxley and Wheatley inscriptions  :-

In memory of Margaret, wife of John Oxley, who died June/27/1782 aged 44 years.
John Oxley, died November/12?/1798 aged 67 years.

In memory of Ralph Wheatley of Coldpighills Gen Ob (died) 28/December/1814 aged 20 years.
Also two of his sons (viz) Patrick and George, the elder died 18/September/1816 aged 20 years. The other died 19/July/ in the same year aged 14 years.
Also Mary, his daughter died June/20/1834 aged 44 years.
Also Isabella, the above(after this the inscription is unreadable)

Here lies the body of Wm Wheatley, he was born at Lanchester. Lived part of his life at Brandon in this County, and at Langley Hall in this parish. He departed this life on the 20/May/1826 aged 81 years.
Here also lies the body of Margaret, wife of the above Wm Wheatley. They lived together with reciprocal affection during 46 years, and she departed this life 24/May/1818 aged 68 years.
Here also lies the body of Timothy, the eighth son and the tenth and youngest child of the above Wm and Margaret, he departed this life 4/November/1811 aged 17  years.

Sacred to the memory of John Wheatley, son of John and Mary Wheatley, of Colepike Hill, died 1/August/1798 aged 6 years.
The above named Mary Wheatley, died 10/February/1848 aged 77 years.
The above named John Wheatley, died August/30/1849 aged 80 years.

The above inscriptions are word for word as those on the gravestone.

Hi Adam,

Just to say thanks for posting the Smith transcriptions.  I think there may be a
connection with John Smith but with a name like that you can never be 100%
sure, anyway Thanks again

Sacred to the memory of Thomas Shield of Kyo who died 28/January/1853 aged 36 years.
Also Ann Watchman, mother of the above who died 20/June/1865 aged 74 years.
Also Thomas Watchman, her husband who died August/25/1867 aged 68 years.

John Proud of Barr Gate, but late of Lanchester, Blacksmith, died December/16/1814 aged 92 years.
Ceciley, his widow died 10/September/1815 aged 95 years.
George their son died 8/October/1772 aged 19 years.
Elizabeth their daughter died 17/August/1785 aged 25 years.
William Proud died ??/1854 aged 74 years.
Mary his wife died May/15?/1856 aged 70 years.
Sarah Proud, granddaughter of the last named, died 12/November/1865 aged 16 years.

The family burial place of Martin and Mary Proud of Medomsley.
Martin their son died August/19/1845 aged 25 years.
Also Jane their daughter died October31/1848 aged 17 years.
Also the above named Mary Proud departed this life January/10/1849 aged 54 Years.
Also George their son died August/6/1849 aged 24 years.
Also the first named Martin Proud who died July/5/1854 aged 65 years.

Sacred to the memory of George Proud of Lanchester who died October/11?/1858 aged 58 years.
Also Ceciley his wife who died 12/May?/1838 aged 43 years.
Also Charlotte ??? wife  who died 20/September/1874 aged 80 years.
Also Mary the beloved wife of George Parker and daughter of the above George died November/16/1892?
After this the inscriptions are unreadable.
