Chapel and Morningside
« on: Wednesday 14 May 08 06:26 BST (UK) »
I am wondering if someone died in Chapel in 1915 where are they likely to have been buried. It looks to me like perhaps the cemetery in Wishaw might have been the closest one.  If so, where would I find the records for that cemetery and the burial I am hoping to find?

Jessie Craig Bertram Amos died at home at 10 Mitchell Place, Chapel, Lanarkshire, on August 30, 1915 leaving a newborn infant and three small children. Her husband David Amos was away at war.

Thanks for your time!

Hello Leia

Can you give us anymore info about this lady.

I have looked at the 1915 deaths but can't see her.

Where is this Chapel and Morningside you mention?

Are these places all in Scotland? If so, it might be best asking a moderator to move this to the Scotland look up boards....... lots of people there with better geography of the area than us southerners  8)

Thanks Carol.  When I was searching around for a board to ask my question, I thought I was joining a Scotland board.......oops! That's all the information I have about this lady and yes, all the places are in Scotland. I will go and see if I can find a board more specific to Scotland and in particular Lanarkshire. Don't worry about spending more time on this question, I'm sure there will be somewhere that everyone is more familiar with this area of the country.

Thanks Carol. Not to worry, I asked my question on a Lanarkshire list and received the answer almost immediately. Amazing service!
