Hello Brian. No Janet or James, just John William and Elizabeth, George Joshua and Esther and Mary and George.

Hello Gillian. Here are two inscriptions for Whitfield from the Witton le Wear cemetery:-

In loving memory of John William, beloved husband of Mary Jane Whitfield of Low Beechburn and son of the late John Whitfield, Wheatbottom, farmer, Crook, born November/11/1855 died April/4/1897.

In loving memory of Hannah, the beloved wife of John Whitfield, farmer, Wheatbottom, Crook, who departed this life June/23/1865 aged 28 years.
Also John, son of the above, who died July/25/1865 aged 5 weeks and 2 days.

If this is your family it looks like you need to concentrate on Crook.

Sorry, no Anthony gravestone.

Adam

Hi Adam,

Could you pass on the SNAITH Memorial Inscriptions for me? Hopefully, they will be relevent to my research. Thanks in advance.

Mark.

Mark, I came across this discussion session and am interested in your Snaith connection.  I have got back to John Snaith c.1698 of North Bedburn who married Elizabeth Stevenson in 1727. Are you from this flock?
