According to the 1893 map the street was residential with extremely closely packed tenement buildings there are no "care" facilities shown.

looks residential. 1866 PO Directory (can be downloaded from Google books) lists a Finlay Cameron at number 37.

      I think Russell St changed its name to Wemyss Street about 1928.     My grandfather lived at 5 Russell St in 1928, then at 11 Wemyss Street from 1928 to 1934.      He is on the Glasgow Electoral Registers.   

     My father (now dead) used to say they lived at Russell Street but there was a name change, and they were then living at Wemyss St.      Probably the name-change was 1928.
