Good to know thanks
I wonder if my Granddad was in that band
They lived in Stanley st for a while
Before moving up to the Dingle
They married in St Mikes the lodge church
And my Dad was a member of the Garston lodge for years

He died many years ago Allan
As you know the band was a girl band
But the men walked at the back and did not wear uniform
My Dad played the accordion

The address on c1881 is 85 Midwood St, Widnes with father working in a soap factory. Looking at the map looks near to Morrisons is in Widnes so definately not Garston end. Children are Thomas (10), Alice (14), Frances (7) and Mary J (3) Coleman. We did find Alice in c1891 working in service in Manchester.
It was really the story of the orphanage and B&M I was trying to find information on.
 :)
