Hi Joanmarie,
I am unsure as to if you still use this website or not, 2 years after you were on your quest for the Hoey roots. But I think you and I are related!
My father is a Hoey, Louis S. Hoey III. And I live in Pennsylvania as well, in King of Prussia.
My Great Grandmom Hoey, Helen C. Hoey, lived to be 105! Could we be talking about the same family? I recently discovered that my dad's generation of names came from James Urban Hoey and Margaret McCassin. (I only discovered this after I got a few awesome responses from a message I posted on ancestry.com :) )
My fathers entire side to his family lives in Pennsylvania. He has an older brother and sister, as well as 3 younger brothers and one sister. It is possible one of these Hoey's live close to you if you are in PA!
It's so crazy that our last name is so popular! Take care!

Hi Andrea_lynn
My dad was J. Urban Hoey Jr.  We are now down to James U Hoey V who is now with the Minnesota Twins.  I didn't realize Louis (I remember him from when I lived in PA...now in NC) had any sons.  Thought our Hoey line was only passing through my brother, etc.   I well remember Uncle Stan and Aunt Helen.

Hello Barb,  Just saw your response to Andrea Lynn,  my mother was Louis's sister,  Stanton and Helen's daughter.  I thought Stanton had a brother Fred, as well as James Urban, and that Fred had two to three sons.  Is that not correct?   If so, then the line continues there as well.

Uncle Fred was married, bit right now I can't think of her name.  They never divorced or had children that I know of.  My earliest memories of him are his living with Betty Mulhern (and he did until he died) over a furniture store in Phila.  We went them several times.   Bought a tv one time in 1948.  I am 70 years old this year.  Is there a way to get in touch other than through these postings.  I am going to see what else info I may have.

Once you and the person you want to get in touch with each have 3 posts you can use the PM (personal message) system to exchange email addresses, recent family details, etc. that you are not allowed to post here.

Thank you for the information!

I do have 3 posts on this site alone. Barb, I tried to send you a message with my email address but if you didn't receive it, it means that you don't have 3 posts yet.  If I see a total of 3 from you,  I will try again.

Joan

Hello,

I am posting late, I hope this thread is not dead as I have just found it (lol)

I am looking at some marriage information for:

James Hoey (Labourer) Newtownards Father (James Hoey) Labourer
Marriage:Sept 8th 1890 Registry Office Newtownards
Margaret Arnold b.1864 Newtownards Father (William Arnold) Shoemaker
Witness's: Samuel Brown & Ellen Brown

Not sure if James Hoey is related to you or not, I am currently investigation
James & Margaret but they seem to have fallen off the radar. I cannot
find them in the census.

Thank you

:)
Lowry/Lowrey surnames Newtownards & Whitehaven
Arnold surname Newtownards & Whitehaven
