Hi Alison,

Here's Fanny's birth registration:
Jun 1871 Droxford    2c   115   Hayes    Fanny Quinton       

in 1891 she was a servant living away from home, but oddly, in 1881 she and her brother Edwin Thomas Hayes were stepchildren to George Dovey b.1825, Privett, maybe George's grandfather's brother??!

that marriage was Dec 1876 Droxford    2c   243
DOVEY    George     to   Hayes    Ann   

now to find Ann Hayes first marriage

Ann was married to Thomas Hayes in 1861 census but she was widowed by the 1871 census - so Fanny could still be his daughter as she was born Jun Qu 1871,
her birth cert would help of course, I haven't found a death for Thomas Hayes.
