I am of firm conviction that my mother-in-law was a direct descendant of the devil, happily ,if true, then she is now back with her ancestor ;)

Interestingly I find the surname Walsh in my father's tree at about the right time for the indiscretions of George III with a lady of this name. Many years ago I decided that the only way to get fame was to do it myself! Got some way up the ladder then fell off!! Reckon I got 25 minutes of fame instead of 15, but I was told at the time I was a natural for TV. With my looks I think sarcasm was intended.

My mother has always told me that somehow my g grandmother was related to Johnny Weissmuller. Have never found the connection though, might show up one day. Then again family rumours are hard to prove!!!

It's relatively distant (we're 6th cousins, or something like that), but I'm related to David Suchet through his Jezzard ancestors.  Was quite interesting when WDYTYA had that episode about him a few years ago...quite a shock to see names you know from you own research mentioned on the tele.
Currently engaging in a one-name study of the Twyman surname.

Golding, Twyman, Kennard, Wales (Kent).
Berks, Challinor (Staffordshire).
Wakely. (Glam & Monmouth).

Stewart Granger, the actor. His stepmother was my hubbie's grannies sister  ;D ;D ;D Not sure whether that counts.
