She was still alive in 1881 and her birthplace is .. as Alison first stated Newcastle on Tyne, William at this point had died ..

Three decades and three differing birthplaces!  :-\

Nearest in Ovingham was one in 1822 - I think that might be a bit late.

There are quite a few on the IGI for Newcastle/Longbenton, etc. Jane Brown is not that easy without any real clues  :-\

If someone could look at that marriage record, it might give her father's name.

Hi Pels & Gadget


Firstly thank you for your Help thats Brilliant  :D


My father in-law was wondering where his father got the name James Newton Bullock from and as you mentioned  Elizabeth newton it is all fitting into place nicely  he will be thrilled.  

He lost his dad mum & sister all within a matter of months back in 1950 so he has never been able to find out any infmation about where the family originally came from except that his father came from Northumberland but he didn't know about the Durham connection.
