Passengers on "Chatsworth" 1862
« on: Wednesday 30 April 08 22:47 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Would anyone have a list of passengers on the "Chatsworth" which arrived in Brisbane from Liverpool in August 1862?
Iam looking for Thomas William Dillon and Helena Mary Josephine Fleming. Helena may have been married to Thomas as this time. Iam not sure.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
Regards
Mariac

Hi Maria,

Several libraries in the Brisbane area hold this book.  Are you handy to Redcliffe?

Hi Andcarred,
No I live 700km away from Brissy. Usually manage to get there once or twice a year. Perhaps the book might be the best  option.
Thanks for your reply

Hi

I'd be very grateful if someone can check the passenger list of the Chatsworth that arrived into Moreton Bay on 6 August 1862.  I know that Mr Jeffrey of the Royal Navy and his wife were on board (they're listed in the Courier of 16 August).  I'm really interested in Donald Matheson, his wife Elizabeth Adam and their children. I suspect they were also on board; can anyone confirm?

I'm overseas and getting the A$15 book isn't really practicable.

Many thanks,
Andrew

Hi Mariac.  I have full info on Thomas William Dillon and Helena Mary Josephine Fleming on board Chatsworth 1862 (your post  30 April ?) plus full family history for Thomas William in Ireland and Australia. late 1700's to present day.   Thomas William brother of my ggf. Is this for your personal use or in response to query from another user?  I am not interested in online posting of info,  but will reply by private message if you want to get into this further - be warned massive amount of info available.  Let me know.  (Other "Dillon" researchers welcome.)

Also in response to your request re Anthony Caton, photographer, in Edward St chambers in Brisbane, 1955 - this may be connected to Regent Studios in same building - now sadly gone - have not yet found trace - interested to know if any connection - looking for family photos.

How do you find the time for all your activity.  Whew, I was exhausted just trolling through your site.
