I am the great great granddaughter of Alice Gartland.Her father was James Gartland ?and Mother was
Mary Gaftney?they were both born in Dublin. If any one can help me with this please.I do not know any thing about this side of by family

How do you find them(want record or a website can i use i have try the bmd and ancstery)

thank you for that i have her birth date now she was born in 1839 in Dublin but i can not get her birth certificate so how can i find out for sure how her parents were if you can help me please

Civil registration of births started 1864 (see my earlier post)- there will be no birth certificates before that date.
To find church record of baptism (if the records exist) you need to know what religion the family were and where they lived (parish if not actual townland- or in Dublin street- not just 'Dublin').

Thank you for your help i have try the Baptism but there do not Record i have any and i can not get to know about her parnets and if it is right that Alice parents were Mary Gaftney and James Gartland. i would like to find more about them but can not if anyone can help me find out for sure that her parents are them i would be gratefully
