Frederick Waldie 6, b. Glasgow

And in 1901. As I mentioned in my other post on the Midlothian board, Frederick Snr.'s wife is showing as Janet. I would image that Bridget died between censuses and Frederick has remarried:

Frederick Waldie 43, crane fireman, b. Campsie
Janet Waldie    46, b. Glasgow
Campbell Waldie 17, Steam-lammer Driver, b. Glasgow
Frederick Waldie 16, Saw-mill Labourer, b. Glasgow
John Waldie    12, b. Glasgow
Lizzie Waldie    4, b. Govan
Janet Waldie    2, b. Govan

Address: 5 Elphinstone St, Govan

Frerick Snr. birth entry I would imagine given the name of father showing:

FREDERICK WALDIE  Birth: 25 JUL 1857 Campsie, Stirling, Scotland
Parents:CAMPBELL WALDIE and JOANNA KEIN

One other child showing to this couple; DOUGLAS CAMPBELL WALDIE Christening: 07 JAN 1855 Campsie, Stirling, Scotland.

This looks to be Frederick with father Campbell and brother Douglas (maybe mother has died):

Campbell Waldie 30, chelsea pensioner, b. Edinburgh ( :) maybe this takes you back to the Midlothian board)
Dauglas Waldie    7
Frederick Waldie 3, b. Lewistown, Stirlingshire

Address: 16 Broomielaw, Clyde Glasgow

Not easily seeing either father Campbell or Frederick son in 1871/81 censuses. Maybe in Ireland if Frederick married Bridget in Cork?

Well done Monica

Using the info posted to date.

Bridget died on 21st September 1911, in Buchanan Street, Parish of Balfron, Stirling.  Definitely her.

Helen, If you send me a pm - shall send you the entry - fairly clear.

Regards,   Steve  :O)

Link to map of area with Buchanan Street lying north south.

That's great Steve  :) I'm curious, is she still showing as married to Frederick at her death (I couldn't see a death for her up to 1901 or a remarriage for Frederick Snr. to a Janet). 'Janet' may of course simply be a mis transcription from the original image.

Hello Monica

She's down as still married to Frederick - have sent you a pm explaining the reason.  It's definitely her in 1911.

I'd a look as well and didn't find Frederick marrying between 1891 and 1901 - that's why I extended the search.  Shall go and have a look for  his death now - assuming he died in Scotland..

 Steve   :O)

On  20 June 1914 at 89 Bath Street Glasgow - by declaration of Sherrifs Warrant, Frederick - now a 56 yr old dock labourer (widower), living at 19 Blackburn Street, Glasgow married a 61 year old widow, Janet Brown - of the same address.

Fredericks parents - Campbell Waldie and Mary Kean - both deceased
Janets parents  - George Thomson and Helen Munro - both deceased

A quick search of SP shows a 58 yr old Frederick Waldie dying only 2 yrs later in 1916 in the 'Plantation' district of Glasgow, GROS data 644/20 0308 -  no download of extract (search for death carried out Scotland wide from 1914 to 1960 - he was the only one).

Regards,  Steve :O)

They are an unsual combination of names Steve....they are the only one showing with those names!

1841 Census entry for Campbell Waldie in Preston, Sussex, England:

Campbell Waldie, 30, private in Scots Reg., b. Scotland

Also a likely entry for him and wife in 1851 in Canterbury Kent England:

Campbell Waldie 42. private soldier
Johannah Waldie 32, b. Cork, Ireland

We know that by 1855 they are in Stirling with at least sons Douglas and Frederick whose births show in Scotland and in the 1861 census.

This looks to be their marriage in England:

Marriages Dec 1842
Keine    Joanna         Exeter    10   171
Waldie    Campbell         Exeter    10   171
