I am putting this forward to Ron61. My 3rd great grandfather was George Frederick Goodwin aka Fred . Fred was a convict that came out to Australia in 1838 the trial was at the Old Bailey 1837. Fred was born in 1819 and his father was John. Fred had an alias "Bull"on his convict records which i have always thought to be the mothers maiden name. Fred was living in London at the time he was caught and I also think he was there for most of his life till he was convicted. Do you think that the family moved to London? I saw a record of Sarah Bull and John Goodwin marrying in Paxton, Huntingshire, England in June 1817 and so I think it could tie into my Goodwin Ancestors.

Very interesting Annette, but I'm afraid my GOODWINs did not move to London, but  remained in Huntingdonshire, where Sarah died in 1853. :(
