Hello Blackadder, I wish they had called the Tullygarleys something else! It is so difficult to sort them out. My g.g.grandfather was James Ross of Tullygarley (don't know which - yet). He married Jane Smith of Teeshan in 1852 in Ahoghill C of I. I have had the C of I records searched but no children to that couple in the records.
In 1875 James Ross bought 4 graves in Old Ballyclug Graveyard. We have the receipt! Can't figure out who he bought the graves for. I have a list of all the Ross's buried there and he is among them.
In 1864 he and Jane Smith had a son, also James, who died at the age of 16 and is buried in Ballyclug. His birth was recorded in Galgorm.
However, my g.grandmother Elizabeth Ross was probably born in 1858. She had a brother William Ross, born 1855 (he is buried in the family grave in Belfast), but so far I haven't found any record of their baptisms. This is the missing link in my family tree. I might have to pay a researcher to find them. RosemaryJoan
