Hi everyone

Sorry ot hijack this thread but I wonder if anyone who contributed here knows of a teacher called Margaret, (Maggie), Blyth from Moffat who may have been a teacher or headteacher at Beattock School? She was born approx 1882, so the time scale would be early 20th century up to the 1940's.

Thanks

Jean :)

Re Beattock School and House, My grandfather was head master at the school around 1928-30 up until the end of the WW11, his name was John  Bulman, they lived in the white sholl house, my dad and his brothers and sisters attended the school and he went on to Moffat Accademy he was 1 of 8 children.  My uncle has photos of the white house and the school.

Hi Jackie,
Many thanks for your kind reply,my daughter has a wall in the old school dedicated to the
history of the school and I would be thrilled if you could email me copies any photos you may have so I can frame them up. My daughter is keen to add to her collection but photos and artifacts are hard to find. It is intended to keep the school exterior as close as possible to how it has looked over the years. Your help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards Eric.

Hi

Unfortunately my father is not with us anymore.  But I will ask my Aunts and Uncle for any information or photos they have they will be just as pleased to keep thing as they were as they all went to school there.  My grandfather and grandmother are buried at Beattock Church cemetary, John Bulman and Emma Bulman.  My father worked for Jack Kirkpatrick before going into the Airforce during the war he was a shepherd, they lived at the big house as you go into Beattock I think it was turned into a hotel it was called Lough House then and was a farm.

Speak to you again as soon as I can get the information

Regards Jackie

My grandfather was Jack (John) Kirkpatrick who farmed at Loch House, Beattock.
