William Murray

Does anyone have information on the parents of William Murray baptised 15 July 1829 in Paisley?   His parents were Thomas Murray and Christian McGregor.

Any assistance with the date of his  parent's  marriage or baptismal dates of the parents would be welcome.

I am looking for information about the family before William emigrated  to Australia.  He married in Melbourne in 1851.

There's an IGI patron submission for their marriage 5th Octoboer 1826, Mearns, Renfrew

It will need checking on Scotlands People though.

There's a possible on the 1841 in Neilston - no sign of William though

Christian McGregor, 11 December 1799, Eastwood, Renfrew

Parents - William McGregor and Christian Finnie

Apart from Christian, they had:

Robert William McGregor, bpt. 11 Sept 1797, Oakshaw East Associate Congregational, Paisley

Not sure about this one but it's the only Christian Finnie/Finny of the approx age:

Baptism - 25 May 1766 Christian Finie, Inverkip, Renfrew

Paarents - John Finie and Christian Beith

Thanks so much.  I am doing this for a  distant relative by marriage who has  the Australian details of William Murray and his descendents.  The relative is not computer savvy so there is no question of them looking up family history.

We had no details of the family prior to emigration to Victoria,  Australia.    Thank you so much you have been enormously helpful.
