James LUCAS
« on: Thursday 17 April 08 15:52 BST (UK) »
Hello Wilts Rootschatters,

I am following the line of  James LUCAS born c1777 in Donhead St. Mary and need to find out who James' father was - so far I've drawn a blank - probably because I can't see the wood for the trees at the moment.

On the 1851 Census James (70) is living in Donhead St. Mary with his wife Mary and children Andrew, William, John and Jane.

I am trying to make a connection between James and a WILLIAM LUCAS who is catalogued in A2A as having some dealings with Henry Lord Arundell in Wardour in 1758.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hope this serves to clear the undergrowth a bit............

Donhead St Mary Baptisms, children of Thomas and Elizabeth Lucas
2 Mar 1777 JAMES,   2 May 1779 Anne,   3 Jul 1781 John,
3 Sep 1783 Elizabeth,   12 Nov 1786 Mary,   13 Apr 1789 Thomas
27 Dec 1792 Christian (dau),   28 May 1795 George,  9 Apr 1798 Mary Ann

There were also baptisms of children of William and Mary Lucas at the same time but no James at the requested time.

Cheers Dave

James and Mary Lucas from Donhead were my great, great grandparents. I am trying to find information to fill in the blanks fro their daughter Emma born 1855 in Donhead. Is anyone searching for her as well?
