1851 census clearly says Cartmel.

An age given as 25 in the 1841 census indicates a birth between 1810-16.

It was a common thing to name your kids after your parents, which is why I remarked on Mary's children Thomas and Agnes.

where they the only two thomas and agnes.    geoff or where there more they are the only two on igi that i could find

They were the only two I could see on the censuses.  I haven't checked IGI.

Apparently, Myles' parents were William and Jane.  I see Agnes's 2nd name was Jane.  Perhaps there was a William who died but really I've no idea.
