Baptisms Worcester Parishes abt 1845.
« on: Tuesday 15 April 08 19:54 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have an extremely difficult to track down ancestor by the name of Selina Ann Jelf.  All I know is that she was born about 1845 (but could be within 3 years +/- this date) either in Worcester itself or Whittington, just outside the city.  The parishes in Worcester linked to the family in order of apparent relevance are St. Peter's, St. Swithun's, and All Saints.

Selina Ann Jelf was born of Alexander and Charlotte Jelf.  They were married in St. Swithun's church on 20th April 1842 and spent intermittent time in the former North Street of St. Peter's parish.

Selina also cannot be found on the 1851 and 61 censuses but was know to be living in Little Park Street at the time of her marriage to Henry Bullock in 1866.

If anyone is able to carry out this search or assist in any way I would be extremely grateful.

Kind Regards

Gareth.

Hi, Thomas,
Read your essage and had a very quick look. In 1851 & 1861 there is a Selina Jelf living at Chaceley, Worcs (near Tewkesbury) with her 'mother' and Mary Ann, aged 26 (1861) & Eleanor as farmers. In 1851 census there is also a William James Jelf, aged 14 yrs living with them. 'Mother', Ann is classed as a widow. Also found was that an Alexander Jelf was married in Jun quater of 1866, followed by Selina being married in Sept.quarter of 1866 to Henry Bullock. Would they be any relation?. If so, let me know to see if I can find any further details.

Hi Gareth

I looked at the parish records for St Peter's, St Swithuns's and All Saints for the years you mentioned and there was no baptism record for Selina or any other Jelf children.
