best I do with a small image, it may be possible to do a little better
if you scan at a min of 300dpi or even 500dpi.

I agree with Mike.. a higher dpi scan and select high quality/no compression will give you a much better restore though Mike has already done a very good job  :P ;D

PLUS you will be able to print out a decent size copy  :D

Jenny
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

My try.
POSTEES: If possible, PLEASE, scan your images at 300 - 600 dpi, for both ease of restoration and best results
RESTORERS: Feel free to change/improve/colour any restorations posted by myself.  Acknowledgment would be appreciated.

Thanks Jenny and Mike

I puzzled over the 300 - 500 pi   Higher compression and higher dpi scan.

Eventually I found on my Lexmark advanced settings and scanned at 600  the nearest available .  Then I tried out the variopus settings.

Here is the result of a photograph of my grandfather  Martin J Daly my grandmother Catherine Scally
