Marriage of John Bennett and Lydia Archer in North Wingfield
« on: Sunday 13 April 08 10:29 BST (UK) »
Hi Can anyone look up the above marriage please? According to the IGI there is a marriage for John Bennett and Lydia Archer at North Wingfield on 26 July 1847. I would like to know who John's father was, I am hoping that it is John, likewise Lydia's father should also be John. If possible if I could have the details of the marriage lines. Thank you in advance Tina Charlesworth  ;D

To further that, the witnesses were John Wright & Eliza Wright, plus it says John & Lydia's residence was at Clay Cross

Hi Thanks for that, I believe John Wright was John's brother in law but I don't know who Eliza was. Is Clay Cross near Brampton. Lydia's parents were living in Walton, Derbyshire when their youngest child was baptised at Kirkburton, Yorkshire, is this nearby?
Thanks

Clay Cross is about 1 mile from north Wingfield and 5 miles south of Chesterfield, Walton is a suburb of Chesterfield, Brampton is also a suburb next to walton, and is where I live, Kirkburton is quite a way away, probably about 35 miles

Thanks for that, I live 2 miles from Kirkburton and I was surprised when I noticed from the census return that Lydia was born in Shepley, which is a couple of miles away in a different direction.  It must have been a travel to come back here for all the children's baptisms. Thank you for all your help Tina
