Poll story of my life: drooling over plane piccies/polystyrene cement/pasties.
Pat thanks for the snippets on Ginger. I will have a sniff around - but the CWGC is the main source and you have done that.
Robert & Cazza I do like the idea of a new thread where we can post photos just for the enjoyment of viewing them - not requiring restoration or other work. Or is there scope for a new board? I am a newcomer to Rootschat, so I do not know how to organise that.
My neighbours have a poignant colour photo of a couple, he in uniform, before, as the caption states, he disappeared in New Guinea..........and we do not know who they are.......
Oh, and Cazza don't fret about the time it takes for your restoration. we are a patient lot. I'm involved in another thread (Mystery photo that needs another look) and trying to bring it to a conclusion has given me nightmares.
Thudders thanks for the gen on Star Dust, follow this link to the aircraft's fate http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon/2000/vanished.shtml
Scrimnet rivet counters like Mars Bars too.
G'night all

Ignore the Pongo Polldoll  (Where the Army goes - the pong goes).

Crab Air is the way forwards (or should that be sideways?)

Jenny what another set of awesome photos, they would belong on the tribute thread for sure.  If we add what we know about the photos, I'm sure it will be a gold mine of information for others wanting information or help with identification of war photos and would make an excellent reference source, as well as a small tribute to their honour.

Not sure where the appropriate board would be, but I guess we could start it here and if the mods/administrators think it belongs elsewhere they will move it accordingly.

Cheers
Caz

Cazza and others,
Do we need to consider the amount of space on the mainframe server for all these wonderful pics?????

Tristan and Sarah may throw their hands in the air n give up  ;D

I agree.  We would be privy to many wonderful pics honouring personal sacrifice, hasty marriages, unexpected pregnancies and births with dad overseas, etc etc.

This would be a wow of a thread if commenced.

BRILLIANT      BRILLIANT      BRILLIANT      BRILLIANT      BRILLIANT
Cheers
