Parish records skipton please.
« on: Wednesday 09 April 08 17:26 BST (UK) »
hello there
im trying to find the full record of the marriage between Henry Moor/e and Mary Gott that took place on the 29th sep 1806 in Skipton (i have this info from the IGI). im hoping if anyone has access to the marriage records it will show how old they were, i think henry was very young 13 or 14 at the time but id like to check in case ive found the wrong henry and mary on the census.
Many thanks  :)
Sharmala.

Hi Sharmala,
I have the parish records for Skipton.  unfortunately no age given.
details as follows:

Skipton Holy Trinity Church, Skipton
29th September 1806
Henry Moore of Thornton, shoemaker, to Mary Gott, of this parish, spinster.

Hope this is of some help, if you want anything else just ask.

Hi Sharmala,
must have missed the second question.
Unfortunately the baptism records I have do not go back that far for Skipton.

In many circumstances, the marriage was taken place in the parish of the bride, as it was in this circumstance.  But it is likely that they were living in Thornton, where the groom was from, as he would be employed there.

Any baptisms of their children would show up there, and their deaths, if they stayed in that area, would also be there.

I found no burials in the Skipton indexes.

Henry's baptism would most likely  be recorded in Thornton.

What census details do you have on this family?  Any other details would be great to provide timeslots etc.
