Hello again Danone

When you have completed the above exercise, if you use that information and then look in the marriages index for 1909 you should find the marriage of Mabel’s parents.

You should also be able to find, in the birth indexes, some (probable) sisters.

Good luck with it.

DS

ps If you really try but still cannot find them, I am sure that someone will tell you all of the names ;D

Have a look for a marriage in the first quarter of 1939 in Ashby de la Zouch.

You should find an Albert A Page marrying Mabel ......

DS ;)

It's the SEPT 1/4 actually DS  8)

But it doesn't help Danone because I don't think he has access to the full indexes(or anything else come to that) so let's tell him..............her surname was WESTON

Now try the births as DS and I have suggested, and tell us what you find.

We'll give you marks out of ten later...........oooh I feel like Sharon Osborne  :o
Would like her money, but she can keep her hubby!!!

Hi Carol

Thanks .....here comes the excuse....

I did not want to make the exercise too easy.....or, as unlikely as it may seem ;D I could have just made a(nother) c... up.

As Pauline has pointed out previously, access to almost everything that we pay for, to see in the comfort of our own homes, is available to almost everyone, free of charge at the local library.

I can hardly wait now to hear what Mabel‘s parents and siblings were called :o I bet everyone else is on the edge of their seats as well (with score cards ready) ;D

Cheers

DS ;)

HI Danone

I spoke to "my" Mabel this afternoon and it seems she is "the one" you're looking for!  ;D ;D

She confirmed that Vera was Albert's sister and that her maiden name was WESTON.

Mabel, after Albert's death, moved to a bungalow on St Mary's Avenue and then later into St Mary's Court (not Fairfield Court, which is the old people's flats on Ashburton Rd, opposite the school.)

Mabel was thrilled to bits to think someone was looking for her and can't wait to know more details! If you would like to send me further details in a pm about yourself and your family, if you don't want to place personal details on here, I will pass them on. Perhaps you and Mabel may then want to meet up.

Hope to hear from you soon!  :D ;D :D
