allison family from wigton, stranraer and surrounding towns

hi to everyone
trying to get any information on Allison's grandfather Robert Murdoch Allison, gtgf William gggf matthew married to Susan mckinstrie (spelling could be wrong) any information at all thank my mothers name Mary grey mccubbin Allison (Farrell)
my family moved to Australia in the 60S know very little of my mothers family
but she had around 12 siblings

Scotlands People www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk have the marriage of Matthew Allison and Susan Mckinstrey at Stranraer on 28th August 1866.

Matthew was a labourer and aged 20. His parents were Matthew Allison, a tinsmith (deceased)  and  Margaret, maiden surname, Reid.

Susan was also aged 20. Her parents were John McKinstrey, a labourer and Martha, maiden surname Strain

Not sure if this is your Robert but the only Robert Murdoch Allison that is showing:

12th April 1892, 4 Princes Street,  Stranraer. Parents - William Allison, labourer and Elizabeth, m.s. Murdoch.

William and Elizabeth are shown to have married on Oct 12th 1888 at Stranraer.

William's parents were Matthew and Susan (above). In 1888, William was 20 and Elizabeth was 17.

Elizabeth's parents were Robert Murdoch, a fisherman and Jane, maiden surname Garret
