wrong death certificate? look up please!
« on: Monday 07 April 08 04:25 BST (UK) »
I have a death certificate that I ordered for Frances Wilson year 1838
june quarter/ district clerkenwell/ vol 3/ page 53/ the difficulty I have is
making out her age at death as it is unclear.
If anyone is going to record office could you please take a look for me
and see if you can make out her age at death.
I may then have a certificate for someone who is searching for a Frances
Wilson who died as a pauper in the Clerkenwell Workhouse.
many thanks  :)

Hi minnieminer

You need to contact the place where you got your certificate from, either the GRO at Southport or the local Register Office at Clerkenwell and explain you can't read the certificate. Clerkenwell may be a better contact as you obviously have the deceased's name and their actual date of death. They should be able to go straight to the registers and confirm this age for you.

It's not something that 'members of the public' can easily do for you.

Hi Dawn,
thank you for that info I will contact the record office and hopefully they
will check on the age for me. I just assumed that they would'nt do that.
Cheers :)
