Why not try first on the Emigrants to Canada board. Ive been reading up the stuff they find and its amazing, and if they dont find anything or know where to look they will tell you - free of charge!  They are real helpful by the look of it and just waiting to be asked. Wish I could help but Im new to this too.

I know that you are looking in Quebec...so you will be best off asking some nice people in Que. for lookups...as there are no certs to be found, only parish records... Should you find someone in Ontario...you would have a super time with ancestry as there are tons of records available...
I think it is really too bad that both are equally two of the first Provinces and yet one has so much more available... but then who decided that they didn't need to register births until late in the last century? *sigh* don't ask me...

You have the census information for positioning them and also the parish in which  they wed, and one child born....so you may have luck with a kind person on this site...

be sure to look carefully find the right person to consult and also to thank them for their time as they are really busy...I would also let them know that these are home children as they may have people who specialize in that area of searching...

Unfortunately we haven't one helper from Quebec ( a few who live there, but none who do lookups)

all the best!  ;D
