Is it worth buying credits for Canada on ancestry
« on: Saturday 05 April 08 17:25 BST (UK) »
I have the uk subscription
but need to find out about sisters  in canada
Marriages,children,deaths etc
I dont want to pay for a full year for the worldwide one, so rang them and they suggested I buy £6.75 worth of credits which I believe gives me 14 images
What I'm worried about is say I choose the
wrong person ,the image its a wasted credit, is there a easy way to do this thanks.

It might be worth putting specific look up requests on here first - someone may find them for you!
Enjoyed your "Clean house" bit.   Only too true in this house!

No - don't hesitate.  That is the whole point!   I sometimes worry that people do not realise how much they can do free (ie familysearch) without asking for look ups but this is different and using the expert knowledge and resources of local experts is how this system works.

If you really think there might be enough info on there that would be useful, you could buy one month's unlimited worldwide subscription for £24.95 pounds.  Then you can look at every image you want without worrying.  Remember to cancel it asap.  If your queries are after about 1930 I don't think it will be much help as I believe there are restrictions on access to Canadian BMD info.

Otherwise do what everyone else has suggested and post your queries on Rootschat.  It's what we're here for! ;D ;D

Kind regards

thank you very much for your replies
The time would be after 1911 as I know one married in 1909 and have her on the 1911 census with her husband and baby
Would love to know if she had more children if they married and when the parents died
Also would love to find the marriage of her sister if any ??? and what happened to her
Do you think its possible if I take out a subscription

Keep in mind that each Province had it's own system of keeping vital records and for some Provinces there will not be much available on Ancestry or online.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
