Dear AGMacD

Thanks for the information.  George Dyker married Margaret Wilson McIntosh in 1905.  She was the sister to my Great Grand Father, David McIntosh.

Kind regards

Dear Ian

Thanks for bringing George to life in the family tree.  Did they remain living in Scotland?  Are you able to tell me details of their offspring and birth and death dates and if there are any of George and Mary (McIntosh)Dyker's descendants still living and if so where.

Do you have any photos?

Lastly, any chance you have evidence of George's brothers Alexander and William ever marrying?

Kind regards

Dear AGMacD

Don't have much more I'm afraid.

George and Margaret had a daugther Agnes Annabella Dyker born - 04/08/1906 in Enzie, Banff.  She died in Inverurie in 1997.

They also had a son, I think, George Alexander born in 1908, died in 1974.

Willaim Dyker married Elizabeth McKay  on 21/11/1908 in Huntly.  No other info.

No information on Alexander.  I think he died in 1926 but cannot find out any details of this or a marriage.

Kind regards

Ian

Dear AGMacD

I've come across this George Dyker and I am sure it is the wrong one.  Our George was born in 1886.  I have a copy of his birth certificate.  Parents Charles Dyker and Isabella McClaren.

Kind regards

Well my records indicate that it is correct that Charles and Isabella had George born 30 April 1886 in Glass.  So therefore George born in 1878 must belong somewhere else.

This is becoming an obsession. I will have to take time to work through it all.

Ian, George's sister Elsie Bryndon Dyker (my grandmother) b 22 March 1882 penned a poem "To a New Baby" the last lines in the poem:

Little squirming cuddling thing
Ere you shed each angel wing
Did they tell you you were sent
With a cargo of content
to a home down here below
Where they hungered for you so
Do you know you flawless pearl
How we love our baby girl

Poem was dated April 22 1906

Hi Anita

That is really nice, to have something from your family, from over a 100 years ago.  Makes it all a bit more real.

Kind regards
