US census lookup - David Burston SELLICK

I am hoping that someone would be able to look at the census between 1891 and 1911 to see if there is David Burston Sellick - he was born in 1874 Somerset England. I do not know if he went to the US - all i know is that he was a transalantic clerk and disappears from the UK after 1891. He was not married at that time.

I checked census records and immigration records and couldn't find anything on him. Is it possible he died on one of the transatlantic trips? Where would those be recorded?

Does he appear as leaving the U.K. on www.findmypast.com? Searching is free but you need to pay to get the results.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I look at findmypast which gave me the leads as to either South Africa or USA.
