Samuel Brook/Elizabeth Chandler Warbleton/Mayfield
« on: Wednesday 02 April 08 07:58 BST (UK) »
Is anybody reseaching this family?

Samuel Brook was baptised in Warbleton in 1771 the son of John Brook and Elizabeth ?.

Samuel married Elizabeth Chandler.
Known children; Mary, Thomas,Peter, John, Jesse and Sophia

This line of the Brook family confusingly married into my line of Cornwelll/Durrant's from Mayfield.

Samuels sister - Sarah Brook, married Robert Cornwell in 1789, their daughter Elizabeth married Thomas P Durrant, Thomas and Elizabeth had a son Thomas who married Sarah, Thomas and Sarah had a daughter Mary Hannah Durrant who married the above Jesse Brook. Then Thomas Durrant's widowed wife Sarah, married Jesse's older brother Thomas.

No wonder I have turned to the red wine.
Would love to hear from anyone who can add to the Brook, or should that be "maze"

Thanks Eyesee,
I did see this marriage and wondered.
The name Jesse pops up in the Brook family like a bad case of acne, but is it conclusive enough to confirm the link?

i will have a search for the Dalloway posting.
Thanks again

Thanks Toni too

Hi, I am directly descended from the Brook family of Warbleton.  They do seem to be rather prolific and there seem to be many branches living there at the same time.  I feel sure they must connect together somehow and have been working on it for quite a few months!  I am not sure whether Samuel was related to my lot.  Mine are William and Harriet.  In 1841 Samuel was 40 and William was 35 so they could be brothers which would be interesting. Do you know who Samuels siblings were and his parents so perhaps we could piece this all together?  I should love to hear more from you.
