wouldn't it be easier if your family were the Prestons, don't you want to adopt them?

Well I do have PRESTONs but not in Nottinghamshire.

Interesting that these ones are maltsters - does seem to be a connection in that regard, yes.

Hi Sue

i think we are after anything on Sarah Darby esp. her marriage to John Pearson, to enable us to go back and sideways with her
i am not sure if we know John Pearsons parentage
re the children of JOhn & Sarah i think a must is Williams birth cert as he seems to have been born before Sarah & John married (we have the details for this)
details are known for Walter and Theresa but none of the others defiently, didnt we find something on William?

i was looking for the Prestons to see if they are linked ot the Pearsons but nothing yet
only the fact the Prestons were malsters and the Pearsons were draymen, brewers etc.

I don't know John's parents, no - in the census from 1851 he consistently says born Bentley but I couldn't find a Bentley born John in 1841 yet.

I reckon the George census details look pretty good, I'll have a look at William again after 2nd cup of coffee!

Will order William's cert today, and was thinking of maybe one of the other children in case a different name for Sarah Ann pops up there!

Hi guys

I think William's birth cert will either tell us that John Pearson had a first wife or that Sarah Darby was living with him at the time and was not married prior.

I really feel that she just said she was married as he was 25 years older than her and widowed and she was living with him ..... BUT if William b c 1847/8 has a different mother at least have another name to go on to find John Pearson and family in 1841.

arrghhhh why is ther no marriage for them ...did they ever get married ..?

William could be a child of the first marriage if John is listed as widowed
now there is not a huge gap between William and the next child (is it Theresa?) so that would narrow down the death of the first wife but we don't know her name

this is all maybes

Hi All,

Dont know if this will help at all but ive found 4 John Pearsons living and born 1806 in Nottingham

Here is their wives

Hannah b 1806 living in Arnold
Ann b 1806 living in Edwinstone
Ann b 1816 living in Skegby
Sarah b 1806 living in Bursley

This is a long shot but did he married one of these before Sarah ???
