Hi Norrie
I looked on your list for an MI for my ancestor Rev Dr James Cochrane but he doesn't seem to be there.  He was the Minister there from 1841 to his death in 1877.
There is a stone and a window for him and his 2 sons - they must be inside the church:

stone 232: Rev Dr Cochrane minister first charge here, son Henry John 14/4/1850.  (perhaps this was instead of a MI?)

233 (window) James Church Cochrane of Bengal Civil service died Azamgarh 4/2/1874.

Any chance of a photo of these?  I would love to see one, or anything about Rev James Cochrane in the church records.  I'm trying to find out more about him but can't find a date of birth to go back any further.

Hi Kirsty

I thought you might be interested in the entry under the heading of Cupar Presbytery for James in the Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae the succession of ministers in the Church of Scotland Hew Scott D.D., Vol 5, Synods of Fife, and of Angus and Mearns. Oliver & Boyd Edinburgh: Tweeddale Court 1925

"JAMES COCHRANE, M.A.: pres. by Queen Victoria 5th Feb., and ord. 13th May 1842; trans. to First Charge 18th Aug. 1843."

pres. = presented
ord. = ordained

Not a lot, I appreciate, but somethiing different nevertheless.

Hi Tom   yes there is a stone for Kirkcaldy in Ceres
but wrong spelling KIRKCALDY
Thomas Kirkcaldy died 1959 age 78 & Christina McLEAN died 1939 age 58
I see in 1881 census Edinburgh a Thomas KIRKALDIE born 1854 Cupar
and his wife Janet? born 1853 Burntisland
who were his parents?, did they always spell Kirkaldie that way.
