Dean and Caffin Marriage
« on: Monday 31 March 08 21:25 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Could anyone help with a lookup?

I am tracing with little success the marriage or anymore information of  Thomas Dean b.Sept. 1739 in Brighton and Philadelphia Caffin b.1738.

Thanks in anticipation,

Earl.

Hi Dean

Had a look on the Sussex Marriage Index and the marriage took place on 6 April 1758 at Hurstpierpoint, Sussex.

No other information unfortunately.

Hi Earl

That was what I was just wondering, I was searching the Hugh Wallis site for them in Hurstpierpoint and came across a Philadelphia Dean and John Norman on 7 May 1782.  Could well be their daughter.

Do you think it is possible they stayed in Hurstpierpoint after marriage?

Hi again

Seeems they did

If you go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/ and search on Sussex and Hurspierpoint, the batch C070662 gives several of their children including John baptised 6 April 1759 and Thomas baptised 5 August 1770.
