It's certainly a weird one. I had a look for a way of contacting W A BDM.....can't find an electronic contact, so looks like it has to be snail mail......drats! That's a pain.......

Had another thought go through my head.......what if the marriage was found to be fraudulent.....would they amend the database then? Don't really know enough about these things.

Can't find Harry entering WA before 1899 on the Passenger CD ......and earliest BDM entry is an 1898 marriage entry for an Ada Elizabeth SABINE.

Yes.....and BISA has the families....well established in SA .....unfortunately no marriage listed for Harry.

No worries really....Harry Sabine and Hilda Deimel are only a little twig on a side branch of the family. I just found that index entry unusual.....and will follow it up with a letter. It will be interesting to see if I get a reply!

I have just received an email from W A BDM re the unusual entry for the marriage.....as you suspected, Cando....they inform me that it was a computer glitch with the Index and that it has been fixed.

I shall check!  :D  :D  :D

I do not know if this is helpful; you may already know. ??? Julius Joseph Deimel's naturalisation (1911) is on the National Archives. It has that some of his children live in South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria. He lived in 22 Henry St, St Peters, SA and was born on 5 July 1848 in Westphalia, Prussia, Germany.

Cheers Elfie  ;D

Thanks Elfie.....my ggg-father was a Deimel, and Julius Joseph was one of his children. I have traced the Deimels back in Brilon, Westphalia to the early 1700s.  :D  :D

Julius Joseph had quite a lot of children and it is tracking them and their children down in Australia that is proving more difficult.   :-\
