Cant find a death between 1861 -1871!
« on: Friday 14 January 05 13:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi , I am desperately trying to find a death of a Joseph Lawton in Barton Upon Irwell between 1861-1871 i think. He was born in 1803 in Handford? Cheshire. He appears on the 1861 census but not on the 1871 census in barton Upon Irwell, he was married to a Margaret Shawcross.

Please can anyone help it is driving me crazy!!! :-[

There is a death on freeBDM about the correct age
Deaths Mar 1867
Lawton  Joseph  63  Chorlton  8c 445

From here  http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/REG/lan.htm
This district included Barton upon Irwell (1837-49). It presumably then moved to the Salford district. I get somewhat confused about these moveable locations, so leave it to you to determine if this could be your man.
