Apparently the Old Boys' organisation arranged for surviving records of Bootle Grammar School to be tranferred to Crosby Library, which has an archives section for Sefton on the first floor.
You can email them  - information.services@sefton.gov.uk - for details of what they have. The website for Crosby Library gives opening times etc. Good luck !

Did you find what you needed. There's a Bootle History facebook page you could join. I was also looking for information on Bootle Boys Grammar School and they were helpful. It did have links with the Technical School, and was partly on the same site, I understand.
