Hi Lorraine,
I have found a reference for a Christopher Walker Carlin on the bmd site that ties in with the age of your Christopher...
June quarter 1909...Durham ,volume 10a,page 499...
I can't help with his siblings as there are too many entries with that surname from that area and they don't show any details of their parents unfortunately..
Hope that helps..Flo'

This looks like the parents' marriage:

Marriages Dec 1905   (>99%)
BARKER    Sarah Elizabeth
CARLIN    William
Durham 10a 671

It's the only CARLIN-BARKER marriage on FreeBMD around that time, so these children are are probably Christopher's siblings.  (The mother's maiden name is only shown in the index from 1911 onwards, so there may be others born earlier.)

Births Sep 1912
CARLIN    Thomas             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 929

Births Sep 1914
CARLIN    Emily             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 965

Births Jun 1916
CARLIN    Garside             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 833

Births Dec 1917
CARLIN    Ralph             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 669

Births Dec 1919
CARLIN    James             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 951

Births Dec 1921
CARLIN    Robert E             (mother BARKER)
Durham 10a 876

Hi Lorraine

Sorry.  Only just seen your post.  Did you get all you needed to know?

His uncle, also Christopher Walker Carlin, was killed in WWI on 31 Jul 1915.

Please let me know if you are still trying to find out about this family.

Mike

Might be worth you having a look at the following:
http://county.durham.gov.uk/sites/dli/Pages/WW2History.aspx  They start off with details you already have but then talk about Battalion History stuff too plus photos plus how to get hold of the DLI archivists...
Good luck.
By the way the records may take some time to come from the Army as they are really busy at the moment so please dont get too frustrated (very difficult I know).

Whoops.  Sorry.  Didn't know.

Though I've often dipped into RootsChat before, I was only recently prompted to browse more deeply, by some one who helped me with some information on another site.  I've been really impressed at how helpful RootsChatters are to each other...  and was just trying to be likewise.
